(Fisheries Vietnam) - Due to the cost of fish meal, fish oil in aquaculture farms is increasing, the scientists in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States is studying alternative food source low cost more including seaweed, mushrooms and beef tallow.
However, the expanding use of food resources on a global scale remains a challenge. Currently, farmed Atlantic salmon can achieve good growth in food supply without fish meal. Scientists are studying how to use oyster mushrooms as a feed substitute for Nile perch. Previously, some places in the US have used soy as a food source microalgae alternative but soybean prices and production costs are rising microalgae.
